Until Next Year

Friends,

A final thank you to all who helped make The Concert for Camp a huge
success! We raised over $3000, half of which will go directly towards
building a new fishing Pier on Piper Lake! Look for this great
addition sometime in 2007.

As you can imagine, after the actual event, we took a short break from
Concert business, but now plan on updating information regularly with
2007 concert information throughout the year. Updates coming soon
include: Concert pictures, short concert video clip, and 2007 dates!

We would like to formally thank everyone involved in The Concert for
Camp for their role in making the event a huge success! Whether you
were a volunteer, business sponsor, attendee, donater, or an advocate,
we cannot thank you enough. Because of the collective efforts of an
entire community, WE made this great event happen! Because of your
efforts, more children than ever before will experience the magic of
YMCA summer camp in 2007!

We would like to publicly recognize our business partners for their
great support in this event. You can also see our business sponsors
on the Concert for Camp blog (www.concertforcamp.org), the YMCA Camp
Timbers Blog (www.camptimbers.org), in the 2007 Camp Brochure (release
expected in Jan 2007), and the Fall Camp Timbers Newsletter (to get on
the Camp Timbers newsletter mailing list email
timbers@saginawymca.org). Business friends- Thank you so much!

Go TIGERS

Tonight was the turning point Tigers fans- playoffs and October baseball are coming SOON.

A quick update on a NEW band. We recently added the band "Mr. Sexy and the Super Ska Machine". These cats, good friends of Camp Staff Alumni Lindsay Ostin, will join us from Marine City. Mr. Sexy will take the place of "The Line-up" in the schedule (unfortunately The Line-up will not be able to make it), and play from 1435-1510, what surely will be a HOT 35 minute set.

Collaboration

Attention those of you waiting for an invitation to the idea titled: Collaboration.

Please join us!!!!

Fantastic, we (being the collaborators) welcome you. Don't worry, we realize that some of us may still be wondering how we can be a part of the collaboration.

Good thing you came to the blog, otherwise you might never know. (At this time an acceptable social questioning process may have occurred: what is going on with all this "we", and "us" then switching me the reader back to "you", try not to worry so much. "We" know it's happening, which makes it quasi-intentional.) The answer to how can we collaborate;

Volunteer We need to find more volunteers. We know that we've bought tickets, and we're coming to the gig, we still want to help even more. What can we do?
Work in The Marketplace, helping at the food window, spending time at in the Art Hop, or sharing our world understandings with others.

Become a member of Team Captain Planet. For us, it's going to be the same idea as the television show, only this time there will be two people dressed in silver.

Anyway, as we identify even more ways for us to collaborate, they will be seen here. For now, take a look at these current members of the collaboration:

Taddie Stoneburner and Sean Herbst- Camp Timbers rock-mega god Taddie Stoneburner is joined by special guest Sean Herbst. You can hear more of Taddie by clicking here (insert Taddi Link). Taddie and Sean are rumored to be locking themselves in an Ann Arbor apartment until the concert.

Floyd Mack- Check out more of front man Bub Fish here (insert www.purevolume.com/bubfish). Says concert promoter Brian Lechel, "Dude, Bub rocks, dude."

The Line-up- In the words of Rich, our equipment expert, "the smoothest classic rock".

Double Negative- Remember when Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page played Blues together? If not, just consider that (-)(-)=(+)

Whitney Broadbent- Check your 6 Jeff Beck, Snags' own sister is currently out west, rehersing for the show with accompaniments: singer and mandolin.

Parker Miller- The X-factor himself will hit the stage for smooth 30 minute hip-hop set. Watch for PUSH members to join X on stage and create a few live beats.

PUSH- Kalamazoo brotheren Mark "the Shark" Thompson and Drew Tyner have assembled themselves and are ready to rain down. PUSH take the stage at 8:00pm for a revolutionary two-hour set that you will NOT want to miss. Their distinct, diverse flow will appeal to all. Be there.

- Pixel Construction
- Sunrise Print Communications www.sunriseprint.com
-Old Michigan Tobbacco and Coffee- Brand new in downtown West Branch- try their unique, nothern michigan inspired, coffee blends all weekend at The Concert for Camp Marketplace.
-McDonald's
-Sandy's of West Branch

Ok, ok, still confused about Collaboration, go here now:

Peace and Love.
